Tonawandas USBC Youth Rolls Her First Perfect Game

On Sunday, March 23rd the Tonawandas USBC association held its 49th annual Youth Singles Championship tournament at Tonawanda Bowling Center in Tonawanda, NY. This year, 76 bowlers competed in three divisions based on their average.

Abbey Kieffer notched two firsts on her way to the Girls division A Scratch title. Abbey rolled her first 300 game and her first 700 series (732). The first place with Handicap title went to Chloe Strong (831). Ashley Fries (825) and Rebecca Conlan (815) took the second and third place with Handicap honors respectively. Kyle Zack rolled 700 on the nose to take the Boys A division scratch title, while Tony Grucello rolled a 798 set was just enough to take first place with handicap title. Grucello was closely followed by Donald Zich (794) for second place. Third place with handicap went to Christopher Weinreich (782).

In the Girls division B, Susan Tooke rolled a 442 set to take the Scratch title. A 763 set with handicap was good enough for Kaylee Jenkins to take the first place with Handicap title, while Abigail Krull's 707 set earned her the second place with Handicap honors. Third place with Handicap went to Kendall Falkenrath (700). A 437 scratch set earned Todd Domowicz the Scratch Boys division B title. Brendan Simonds rolled a 757 set for the first place with Handicap title. Tyler DiPasquale's 745 set earned him second place with Handicap and third place with Handicap went to Evan Bush (726).

Samantha Spatorico rolled a 346 set to take the Girls division C Scratch title. The first place with Handicap title went to Kaelynn Weber (709) while Megan Adams rolled 642 for second place with Handicap honors. The Boys division C Scratch title went to Ryler Mnich (370). Matthew Jackson rolled a 795 set with handicap to take the first place with Handicap title. Peyton Spatorico (756) edged out Parker Phillips (752) for the second place with Handicap title, while Parker took the third place with Handicap title.

An awards banquet will be held on Thursday May 22 at Classic Lanes at 7PM. All winners from the Adult/Youth Twosome, Youth Team, Doubles, Singles Championships, and All Events will receive their awards at that time.

To congratulate Abbey Kieffer on her performance in the Youth Singles tournament she has been invited to deliver the ceremonial first ball on opening night of the association's 72nd annual City Championship tournament. The tournament will be held Monday, May 5th thru Tuesday, May 20th at Mallwitz's Island Lanes.
